F.A.Q PLANT PROPAGATORS

CHECK OUT SOME FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

HOW DO I PROPAGATE PLANTS?

Step 1: Prepare a glass bottle for plant cutting by filling with water.

Step 2: Select a healthy plant to propagate that is disease free and shows signs of new growth. Find the tiny brown root node located below the leaf or stem junction. Cut below the node as this is where the roots will grow from. Remove any leaves that will be submerged underwater once placed in the bottle.

Step 3: Place trimming in a bottle and put it in a spot that receives bright indirect light. The brighter the light, the faster the roots will grow. Once the roots are 3-4 inches long, the plant can either be moved to soil or can be kept in water as long as desired.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD THE WATER BE CHANGED?

Change the water every few weeks to prevent bacterial growth or simply top it off any time the water level looks low. Check the roots and bottle regularly for any signs of mold or bacteria.

HOW SHOULD I CLEAN THE BOTTLES

Carefully scrub the bottle with a straw cleaner or scrubby to help loosen any build up and then wash in the dishwasher. All bottles are dish-washer safe.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE ROOTS TO GROW?

It typically takes 4-6 weeks for roots to grow. Using a liquid growth hormone such as Miracle Grow often will speed up the root growth. Also the brighter the indirect light, the more energy the plant is able to photosynthesize which also stimulates better root growth.
